Cool Girl Products

This post is inspired by the recent Into The Gloss article here on “cool girl” essentials, and it got me thinking. I am a self confessed beauty junkie but recently my love for beauty has dimmed a little. It’s so easy to get a bit overwhelmed by all the new launches and lotions and potions and it has given me a new found respect for the products that I’ve loved for a long time, ones that have found their way into part of my either daily or weekly routine. The packaging makes me happy and the products themselves go above and beyond expectations.

When I saw a few of them over on ITG it got me thinking about some others that I wanted to add to my own list – so here goes!

Dior Lip Maximiser: This, and now actually the Fenty Beauty one, are the only lip glosses I wear. This is lip filler in a tube and imparts the most incredible high gloss shine to make lips look incredibly juicy. It also dries down almost balmy so looks incredibly natural. I love pairing this with a nude lipliner (Clinique Intense Blush or Charlotte Tilbury Iconic Nude) for a very natural lip and just lashings of mascara and a bit of concealer. As the drying matte lip trend dies glosses are once again “cool”.

Dior Lip Sugar Scrub: I’ve talked about this a lot but this is the ultimate cool girl essential. It exfoliates as well as giving a subtle pink hue to the lips. This works really well with MAC Spice for a “nothing but something” lip a la Rosie Huntington Whitely or Bella Hadid.

Glossier Generation G Lipsticks: This formula is everything!!! Seriously though, this formula is what my lipstick drawer has been missing. Lightweight yet nourishing, creamy yet matte and sheer yet pigmented. My favourite shades are Cake, Leo and Zip and they’re best all shmushed together with a bit of liner and a ring finger to blend, perfect French girl lip colour.

Glossier Boy Brow: I’m not quite sure what I did before I owned Glossier Boy Brow but I do know that my brows were not as good. Believe the hype!

By Terry Baume De Rose: Ugh this lip balm is just simply amazing. Imagine a light gel but creamy texture that plumps and hydrates the lips with zero stick and imparts a soft natural pinky sheen, it’s also subtly scented with roses – dreamy.

Sisley Express Flower Gel Mask: One of the few hydrating masks which doesn’t clog my pores. This works best as a skin pick-me-up, ideal for after a flight and before redoing your makeup. It also works well left on over night but the real wow factor is almost using it as a primer. It’s a cooling gel consistency with a subtle floral scent that sinks in beautifully and leaves skin supple, plump and GLOWING.

Maison Louis Marie 04 Bois De Balincourt: Again, I’ve banged on about this enough. It’s essentially one of the best fragrances ever created. Imagine woody and clean in equal measures – a more feminine twist on Santal 33.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion: This little pink bottle just makes me happy and calms down my breakout anxiety. I can’t travel without it – nothing else reduces swelling and redness of angry spots quite like it – worth the hype!

Anything by Le Labo: Quite literally anything, their packaging alone makes it achingly cool and their product is pretty amazing with incredibly lasting power and beautiful notes in all their fragrances. I love Rose 31.

I love the Sisley mask too! Do you see long-term improvement if you use it on a regular basis?
