Post Sun Essentials

Throughout my week away I developed a post beach routine that I fell totally in love with. Here are my favourites that made me feel fresh evening ready and glowing in no time at all.. Also stay tuned for a holiday GRWM video on my YouTube channel coming your way tomorrow!

simplewipes

I don’t make a habit of using face wipes, but for getting rid of my SPF 50 pre evening shower Simple face wipes were a dream. They removed every trace of my Vichy Capital Soleil BB Cream SPF50 and left my skin feeling super soft. I might even reach for them for a pre cleanse now that I’m back in London, for evenings when I can’t be bothered to faff around with an oil. Sometimes the basics just rock.

surfspray

Now here’s a confession – I’m scared of swimming in the sea/ocean. I find fish a little freaky and I hate not knowing what’s swimming underneath me. However, this holiday my fiancee finally coaxed me in for a proper swim (ie not just faffing around up to my knees). I got my hair wet and then left it to dry in the sun and was left with the most amazing hair ever. Every other evening that I washed my hair, I recreated that look by using the Bumble Surf Spray and then putting my still wet hair in a ballet bun. It left hair looking tousled and sexy in a rough surfer chick way. I’m officially obsessed and I’m planning on using this even now I’m back in London.

clarinsaftersun

Instead of moisturising with body lotion post shower, I opted instead for the amazingly beautiful Clarins After Sun Gel. It left skin feeling like silk and smelled out of this world amazing. It also soothed post sunbathing skin and is supposedly meant to help retain your tan for longer.

clarinsperfume

My mum and I have been buying the Clarins Eau Ensoleillante perfume for 6 years now – every single summer. You can only buy it from duty free (why Clarins, why!?) and it is one of the most intoxicatingly beautiful fragrances ever. It just smells of Summer and you can even spray it in the day as it is designed not to irritate skin in the sun. It’s a total dream.

beccashimmeringskin

Last, but certainly not least is the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Topaz, a beautiful gel like primer that bronzes skin and leaves an iridescent glow. It comes out looking sparkly, however once on the skin it is more like a soft shimmer than full on glitter. I’m looking forward to trying more from Becca in the future!

So there you have my favourite post sun essentials. I can’t wait to crack them out again properly when I go away again next month!

Couldn’t agree more on how good post-beach wipes are and how summery Clarins Eau ensoleillante smells! I usually just scrunch my (wet) hair when I use beach spray but will totally try the bun thing. xo, Alexandra
