Satin skin for the win

When you struggle with your skin the way that I do, finding a winning primer/foundation/bronzer combo becomes the holy grail. The illusive trio that you can never quite all get right at the same time, that is until now.

It all came together when I fished out a tube of the Laura Mercier Blemishless primer from a goodie bag that I got from a Liberty Beauty Hall event. I gingerly applied it to my freshly cleansed skin and was instantly impressed at how my pores looked diminished, my complexion a little more blurred and the feel or my skin felt smooth and universal. I then added my current favourite foundation the Suqqu Extra Rich Cream Foundation (hitting counters in September) on top and was blown away at the results. My skin looked radiant but not at all dewy, I hardly had any use for my beloved DHC Blotting papers as the foundation works with amazing technology to minimise your skins sebum, similarly the Laura Mercier primer helps keep the oil at bay too. Instead you aren’t left with a one dimensional matte canvas, but rather a satin like finish which looks both like natural skin and airbrushed Victoria’s Secret model at the same time. Magic.

The last addition is the Guerlain Pause D’ete bronzing duo palette which smells divine and gives my skin dimension, it contours without looking heavy and adds a healthy glow back into cheeks that haven’t seen a pre 1am bedtime in well over six weeks (seriously, this Summer has been party central, I definitely no longer qualify as an honorary grandma). The best part about all three products is that none of them break me out – score.
