Feeling Sick vs Feeling Festive

Ugh, being ill truly sucks, and it’s certainly zapped my creative energy. My rule is though, if I’m well enough to put makeup on, I’m well enough to write a blog post, and in this case I’m combining the two but just showing you what I have on my face right now.

I’ve had three glorious makeup free days whilst I’ve been battling this heavy cold/flu thang and so makeup felt a little weird on my skin just now, I opted for golds and peaches to try and fake a healthy glow for my family festive evening. I love this limited edition gold Becca pressed skin perfecter for adding a dose of golden glow, and this Givenchy palette in Caresse gives just the right amount of smokey whilst still being wholesome and VS angel esque. Lips are my usual duo of MAC Soar + Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk with a layer of CT’s matte revolution lipstick in Amazing Grace for a truly long lasting pout. I’ve been having a cup of lemon and ginger tea an hour in order to flush (eww) this bug out, and it seems to be working when paired with a concoction of neurofen and day nurse. My Diptque Pomander candle is helping me get out of the illness mood and feeling the festive vibes, and I of course have Buble blasting out of my laptop!

Here’s to tonight being a success, and tomorrow me feeling better so that I can tackle the two other Christmas parties I have this week! Fingers are firmly crossed..

When I have to wear makeup after being sick I always try to wear really moisture rich products, they feel so much better on the skin!

100% agree with you there, Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream works wonders!

Feel better! My favorite thing to do makeup wise is adding highlighter when I’m sick – it’s such a great pick me up!

I totally agree – highlighter fakes good health like nothing else!
