How To Tackle Heat Induced Breakouts

 

I can’t be the only one who suffers from unsightly heat induced break outs? Whilst the sun can (despite what dermatologists say) can do wonders for your breakouts (drying them up and what not), the muggy trapped heat on tubes and in polluted cities can wreak havoc with skin that is already prone to acne and breakouts.

I’ve noticed that the pores around my nose have broken out in little bumps with a few white heads after sweaty tube journeys and I’ve found a way to tackle them so that they disappear just as quickly as they pop up that I thought I’d share, even if you don’t suffer from them these tips are still great for keeping skin fresh in city heat. I start off with a double cleanse, and whilst I’d usually opt for an oil cleanser to remove my makeup I’ve steered clear of them until my skin feels less agitated, instead I’ve opted for my fail safe La Roche Posay Physiological cleansing gel which is incredibly gentle yet clarifying and hydrating. A double cleanse with that followed by a swipe of a cotton disc in Clarins Gentle Exfoliating Toner as gentle exfoliation is key to ridding blackheads and whiteheads quickly and then a small pump of LRP Toleriane Ultra light facial moisturiser leaves skin calmer and the heat bumps reduced. I’ve avoided using any clarifying masks or any harsh “breakout” products on the skin as I feel that would only agitate it further, it’s all about gently cleansing and exfoliating in order to wash and rid all of the sweat and grime (ewww) away.
