Palette USPs

I never thought I was big on palettes until I recently counted my favourite are realised for favourites five is quite a lot.  There has to be something special about a palette if I’m going to commit, it can’t just be a string of pretty shades that I already own elsewhere, so here are my favourite palette’s USP’s.

Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Palette The USP for this palette is the top right hand colour – a warm reddish toned bronzey brown that’s just divine and takes the palette from nice to wow. The bottom left glitter is also incredible, but as you can see by how much more of the top right than any other colour it really is the star of the show.

Burberry Rose Pink No.10 Eyeshadow Palette This has two USPs and for me it isn’t the gorgeously dusty rose shade at the bottom (even though it is incredible I do own it elsewhere), no for me it’s the subtle shimmery grey that leaves lids with a wash of taupe. It’s super flattering and works really well with a black liquid lined look.

Guerlain Ecrin Couleurs 500 This palette is just incredible and nearly every colour is the USP. In particular the bronzed shade is incredibly pigmented and works wonderfully in the crease, the pale gold is also incredible for a wash of colour all over the lids or just in the inner corners of the eyes.

Smashbox Full Exposure This palette doesn’t have any one in particular wow USP shade as the whole thing is rather fantastic. If I had to choose the winning shades it would obviously be the bottom mattes as they work beautifully for every day use.

Marc Jacobs Lolita Palette This palette is almost too similar to the Smashbox one, making me seriously second guess my decision for purchasing. However, what Full Exposure lacks (great shimmers) this one has in spades – the most gorgeously un sparkly creamy shimmers as well as super blendable and wearable matte shades. This is a fantastic palette for day to day use and one that I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a good quality neutral palette to see them through day to night.

What’s your favourite palette and what’s it’s USP?

I got all excited about the Guerlain palette, but unfortunately they test on animals…:( Not worth it for me then.
