Short Hair?

I’ve cut my hair short twice in my teens – once just because I got sick of super long hair, and the second time because Alexa Chung happened. I’ve had super long hair for 5 years now and seeing as I’m no longer a bride to be and it’s a new year I’ve had the short hair bug again. It came as no surprise to me that less than 5 weeks after her wedding, Lauren Conrad lopped off her waist length locks and into a long bob, and then a week later into an even shorter bob. The lack of pressure of pending nuptials does strange things to a woman. You don’t really have to worry about your appearance in a long-term curated way anymore and you can just YOLO.

Whilst my husband loves my long hair, he is also not totally averse to a collar length cut on me, so the other day whilst shooting this super cosy Topshop jumper (a sale bargain) and these Zara chocolate coloured skinny jeans I decided to tuck my hair into my jumper and posted an instagram asking you guys whether I should go for the chop or not (results were totally 50/50). I feel a lot chicer, edgier and cooler with a shorter look, but my hair has always been such a safety blanket for me and I’m not sure if I’m prepared to kiss it goodbye…but hair does grow!

What do you think? The rest of the outfit included these Zara heels which I adore and my Saint Laurent Sac De Jour that just looks fantastic with any and every outfit.

I say go for it, like you said hair will grow, so you can enjoy it for a while short then grow it again. I think it suits you long and short. x

First-love the OOOTD! I say go for it! Beware- when I change my hair I feel a need to buy new clothes and make up! Point, you said you feel edgier, cooler and more chic-these feeling will come out in you face, your walk, how you stand. It’s a good thing! You look great whatever you decide!

I love your hair long! Maybe go for a medium-long length and then see if you want to take the plunge and do the collar bone cut!

No, you have gorgeously glossy, healthy hair, I’d keep it long. You’re just going to grow it out again anyway (I think we all do that). Do a faux bob with pins if you want a short-hair look for a day or two, but keep your beautiful long hair.

CUT IT! I love the freedom of having shorter hair especially if you had coloured it or it is damaged. It is just hair it will grow back!
